“Staff are highly professional, reflective, child-focused and dedicated, and inclusion underpins all aspects of this provision” Outstanding Ofsted Feb 2012

Bumble Bee Room (3 months to two years) Ratio 1:3 (1 adult to every three children)
Within our baby room we offer a relaxed homely atmosphere. The babies’ needs are met throughout the day by all staff communicating closely with their parents and carers. This means your child can sleep at any time during the day and in any way which is comfortable to them such as in rockers, on a bed, in a buggy or a cot. They can have their bottle at a time that suits them. We are flexible and like to make their day as settled as it would be at home.
The activities in the Bumble Bee Room are not structured so the babies have time to explore. We have a climbing frame and a ball pool available in the room to enable the babies to develop their physical skills. All the resources are low down at baby/child height so they have access to all equipment. There are plenty of messy activities on offer such as corn flour play, pasta play, sand, water, jelly play and much more! Every day the mobile and non-mobile children go outside to explore our outside area.

Butterfly Room (two years-three years) Ratio 1:4 ( 1 adult to every four children)
Within this room a variety of areas can be found such as messy area, book corner, home corner, construction, small world and much more! Throughout the day there are a mixture of activities on offer from ‘adult-led’ to ‘child led’. The staff carry out a lot of activities based on developing their social skills and turn taking. They also strive to develop the children’s growing independence.
The children can be in nappies, potty training or fully trained in this room and if a sleep is required this does not have to be at a set time.
We believe in the children having access to the outside so operate a free flow system where the children can be inside or outside and the staff monitor this and go to where you child is. This happens throughout the morning and afternoon.
In both rooms staff carry out observations to support and extend your child’s learning and development and they use the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework to support these. In both rooms all children have daily diaries which are used as a two way communication tool with the staff and parents.
All children have access to indoor and outdoor learning facilities. Activities are adapted to suit individual’s needs and stages of development.

On a daily basis children benefit from child initiated and adult focused activities which include:
- Sensory Play
- Forest School
- Music and movement
- Early maths and literacy skills
- Outdoor fun
We have highly qualified staff and excellent links with parents/carers, with a home/nursery diary for each child.
All children are offered a breakfast, afternoon snack and a 2 course hot meal every day chosen from a specially prepared menu and cooked in our onsite award winning kitchen.
